PORCELAIN VENEERS

Porcelain veneers are a fingernail thin layer of porcelain that is custom fabricated and bonded to the front of the tooth.  For optimal results, a thin layer of tooth structure is removed and an impression is taken and sent to a ceramist to create a natural looking precision fitting veneer. Veneers correct misaligned, poorly shaped, damaged or discolored teeth. This process requires two visits.

TEETH WHITENING

Bleaching lightens teeth that have been stained or discolored by food or age. We use the at-home whitening technique which generally takes several days to a couple of weeks to complete,  allowing for a slower, more gradual shade change.  For this method, your dentist will take an impression of your mouth and fabricate a custom-made tray to hold the whitening solution. you will receive instructions on the proper method for placing the solution in the tray and the length of time to wear it forr each whitening session.  Usually, each session lasts an hour.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental Implants are a revolutionary technology used to permanently replace lost teeth.  They are artificial tooth roots made of titanium on which the replacement teeth are permanently secured and made to match your natural teeth.  The implant tooth looks and feels like a natural tooth and is brushed and flossed like a natural tooth.

The oral surgeon or periodontist places the implant directly into the jawbone.  A post is secured to this artificial root and can be used to secure a crown above the gum.  In denture cases implants can be used to secure and stabilize removable dentures.

BONDING/POSTERIOR RESTORATIONS

Bonding involves applying a tooth colored plastic putty called composite resin to the surface of your chipped, broken or discolored teeth. The composite resin can also fill in gaps between your teeth and protect roots that are exposed due to gum recession. The entire procedure is virtually painless and is usually completed in one visit.

NIGHT GUARDS/TMJ

A night guard is an appliance worn over the teeth to relieve head, neck, jaw joint and shoulder pain caused by bruxing and clenching.  Night guards protect the teeth from damage done from bruxing.  Bruxing is nocturnal clenching and grinding.  Night guards are made of a nonallergic material with a clear hard outer and soft inner surface.  This material is thermo formed under vacuum for an accurate fit and comfort.

SCALING AND ROOT PLANING

Healthy gums are firm, pink and don’t bleed.  In the earliest stage of periodontal disease, called gingivitis;  the gums begin to get red and puffy and may bleed during brushing or flossing.  If periodontal disease is diagnosed in the early stage of gingivitis, it can be treated with a thorough professional cleaning.  If the disease has progressed beyond gingivitis to periodontitis, the treatment may involve a process called deep cleaning or root planing which involves cleaning and smoothing of the root surfaces of the teeth to remove calculus and bacterial deposits below the gumline so that the gums can heal around them.
